First Friday Artwalk

When: Friday, April 4, 2025

Where: Downtown Charleston

Immerse yourself in local art at more than 30 galleries during the Charleston Gallery Association’s Artwalk. Taking place on the first Friday of most months, the Artwalk is a fantastic way to meet new people, discover local artists, and find the perfect art piece for your home. Participants have the ability to create their own Artwalk route using the CGA website’s “Charleston Gallery Association Map.” There is no cost of admission to this event.

2nd-Sunday-on-King

2nd Sunday on King Street

When: Sunday, April 14, 2025 | 12-5 pm

Where: King Street from Queen to Calhoun Street

Every second Sunday of the month from noon until 5 pm, the City of Charleston shuts down King Street from Queen to Calhoun to through traffic. In addition, no cars are allowed to park, giving pedestrians the ability to stroll through the street and visit businesses they might not have known about. There are also artists displaying their work on the street and unique food vendors tempting guests with their fare.

Drayton Hall at Night

When: Saturday, April 5, 2025 | 5-7 pm

Where: Drayton Hall | 3380 Ashley River Rd., Charleston

Discover the magic of Drayton Hall after hours by bringing a date, gathering with friends, or enjoying a family night out. Drayton Hall at Night offers live music on the lawn and stunning views of the historic landscape.

During this special evening, the house will be open for exploration, and Drayton Hall archaeologists will be on hand to share insights into their latest discoveries. Guests of all ages can enjoy scavenger hunts and colonial games.

Pack a picnic and bring your lawn chairs! Beer and wine will also be available for purchase on-site.

Created to inspire, elevate, and celebrate Charleston’s vibrant arts community, this annual festival embodies the spirit of “Art is the Reason.”

Art Charleston is the city’s premier visual arts event, spanning five days of signature experiences, including artist lectures, panel discussions, gallery walks, professional workshops, and guided exhibition tours. This year’s theme draws from the upcoming exhibition Statement Pieces: Contemporary Fashion Design and the Gibbes Collection. Produced in collaboration with Barrett Barrera Projects, the installation pairs striking works of fine art from the Gibbes collection with contemporary fashion designs by icons like Alexander McQueen and Gucci. The Annual Blessing of the Fleet & Seafood Festival, presented by East Cooper Medical Center and Harris Teeter, is a beloved celebration honoring Mount Pleasant’s shrimping and fishing industry. Set against the stunning backdrop of the Ravenel Bridge and Charleston Harbor, the event features a boat parade, ceremonial fleet blessing, live music, a craft show, seafood samplings, family-friendly activities, and more—all with free admission! Support local fishermen by choosing wild-caught seafood and enjoy delicious offerings from Mount Pleasant’s favorite restaurants. Don’t miss this unforgettable Lowcountry tradition! There is no parking at Memorial Waterfront Park due to the current construction. Free shuttle buses run continually from 11 a.m. – 5:15 p.m. Riders are welcome to bring chairs and festival gear on the buses! The last buses leave the park at 5:00 p.m. All stops will have at least one wheelchair-accessible bus.
